Vocabulary :)
Vocabulario.
Unit 7.
- Trip: viaje → Are you ready for you trip to Brazil?
- kind of: mas o menos → Yes, kind of.
- Bargains: Liquidación → Is it easy to find bargains on the internet?
- Research: Investigar sobre → You just have to do some research.
- Embassy: Embajada → I have to go to the embassy to get a visa.
- Guidebook: Guía turista → I have to buy a guidebook.
- I guess: Supongo → I guess I have to go to the bank.
- Stuff: Cosas → a pickup truck picked the stuff up.
- A sleeping bag: Saco de dormir → would be a good idea to bring my sleeping bag to go to the Andes Mountains
- Maybe: Puede ser → Maybe. I don’t have a tent, though.
Unit 8.
- Bathing suit: Traje de baño → I mean, whose bathing suit is this?
- Earrings: Aros → Look at these awful earrings.
- Jewelry: Joyas → whose jewelry is this?
- Nightstand: mesita de noche → We have a couple of nightstand.
- Rug: Manta → I like the green rug. Wich one do you like?
- Middle: Medio → The cellphone in the middle is very nice.
- no, go ahead: Como no → This is a great apartment! Do you mind if i look around? No, go ahead.
- I’m running a bit late → Yeah, thanks. Listen, I hate to ask this, but would you mind helping me in the kitchen? I’m running a bit late.
- Chop: Picar →Well… could you chop the onions?
- Microwave: Microonda → In the house of my parents there is a microwave in the kitchen by the stove.
Unit 9.
- I missed my stop: Pasarse de largo→
- Walked right into: Encontrarse con alguien → I walked right into with my friend.
- Sprain: Esguince → Whenever football game me sprain a fingers.
- Toes: Dedos de los pies → I broke my toes
- To call for help: Llamar por ayuda → Yeah, i know. But i was by myself, so i was lucky i had my cell to call for help.
- Sort of: Tipo de → I sort of had an accident.
- Eye: Ojo → I got a black eye.
- Cut: Cortar → I cut my finger.
- Hurt: Daño → I hurt my back.
- Chest: Pecho → Gabriel removed his shirt, and I kissed his neck, his chest , his stomach, over and over again.
Unit 10.
- More: Más → Text messages are more fun than phone calls.
- Less: Menos → Cell-phone calls are less expensive than regular phone calls.
- Quicker: Más rápido → My dog is quicker than all.
- Better: Mejor → Webcams are better than regular phone calls.
- Worse: Peor → Spam is worse than regular junk mail.
- Fewer: Menos → You get fewer calls than I do.
- Just: Sólo → Well, it’s a trip for two, and I was just calling to ask.
- Nicer: Más agradable → It’s nicer to get a real card than an e-card.
- Easier: Más fácil → Email is quicker than regular mail. It’s easier, too.
Unit 11.
- Family traits: Aires familiares → Christmas is a time of family traits.
- Twin sister: Hermanas gemelas → What does your twin sister?
- Indentical twins: Parecidos → I mean, are you identical twins?
- Look like: Parecerse → What does your twin sister look like?
- Takes after: Heredado → My father takes after me gray hair.
- Curly: Crespo → So does she have curly black hair like you?
- Stright: Liso → She’s got straight blond hair and blue eyes.
- Braces: Frenillos → She wears braces.
- Long fingernails: Uñas largas → My boss has a long fingernails.
- Freckles: Pecas → My sister has freckles.
Unit 12.
- May: Poder → You may use a sling if you wish.
- Might: Poder → A convincing display of military might.
- Maybe: Puede ser → Maybe I won't go back.
- Nurse: Enfermero → To be valuable health care practitioners, nurses must commit to lifelong learning.
- Business executive: Ejecutivo de negocios → My dad is a business executive in the company
- Plumber: Gasfiter → When the plumber fitted the new central heating/water system he fitted a manual shower mixer tap for us.
- Journalist: Periodista → I think journalists have an interesting job.
- All right: Bien → Everything will turn out all right.
- Firefigthter: Bombero → My neighbor is a firefighter.
- Carpenter: Carpintero → I'll have to call a carpenter urgent for me to arrange the chairs in the house.
